Donations & Sponsorships


 

We put our money where our mouth is when it comes to our Credit Union philosophy of people helping people. We offer support in the form of donations and sponsorships to local charitable and non-profit groups who are working to make a difference in our communities. Our hope is to use the money budgeted in this area to benefit as many people in our communities as possible.

 

Crossroads Credit Union will consider supporting the following:

·         Youth

·         Education

·         Health

·         amateur sports

·         arts and culture

 

We will not support:

·         political or religious groups or organizations

·         advocacy organizations whose causes are publicly controversial

·         organizations or projects whose benefits are national, provincial or outside the geographic area in which the credit union does business

 

A request for any type of donation must be submitted using the forms available in branch or within our online brochure builder. Requests should be made at least one week before the donation is expected.

Preeceville & District Mushers' Rendezvous

Crossroads Credit Union donated $2,000 to the 2012 Preeceville & District Mushers' Rendezvous (February 3rd, 4th & 5th). The Mushers' Rendezvous is a world-class event featuring sled dog races. The donation included sponsorship of the main race, titled "The Crossroads Credit Union Classic".

Norbert Georget's Smart Youth Power Assembly

Norbert Georget's assembly focused on teenage drinking and driving and texting while driving, substance abuse and peer pressure. His powerful message was heard by 150 students that attended the presentation on October 4th. Mr. Georget has been a keynote speaker at numerous conferencces and events, and has previously visited schools in our trading area.

Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Donations

On Friday, March 11, 2011, an 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan. The earthquake and subsequent tsunami caused severe damage. Hundreds of people are reported dead, and many more are injured or missing. The

Red Cross has deployed medical teams to the affected area. Volunteers are on the ground providing first aid and search and rescue operations.

Crossroads Credit Union assisted the Red Cross in the effort by collecting donations for the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami. The collection period ran until April 15th, totalling over $800.

Preeceville & District Mushers' Rendezvous

Crossroads Credit Union donated $2,000 to the 2011 Preeceville & District Mushers' Rendezvous (February 4th, 5th & 6th). The Mushers' Rendezvous is a world-class event featuring sled dog races. The donation included sponsorship of the main race, titled "The Crossroads Credit Union Classic".
The 22 mile, 10-dog race was won by Kevin Cook. Second place was awarded to Richard Beck and third to Wyatt Cook.

CROSSROADS CREDIT UNION RAISES $500
FOR PAKISTAN FLOOD RELIEF

The Canadian Red Cross organized relief assistance for victims of the flooding in Pakistan. Flooding has devastated an estimated 20 million people across the country and The Red Cross has actively supported relief efforts in the region. 

Crossroads Credit Union assisted in the effort by collecting donations for the victims. The federal government will match, dollar-for dollar any donations made to the Red Cross until October 3rd. Donations collected by Crossroads Credit Union that qualify for government-matched funding totaled $500! Thank you to all who have given generously to this cause.

$300 Donation for Field Goal Sponsorship of the
2010 CanAm Bowl in Preeceville, SK

Crossroads Credit Union recently became a Field Goal Sponsor of the CanAm Bowl with a donation of $300. The Preeceville Panther Football Club has been awarded the right to host the 2010 CanAmBowl on July 3rd, 2010 in Preeceville. The CanAm Bowl is an annual all star football game played between graduated all-star players from the United States and Canada.

FOR HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

The Canadian Red Cross organized relief assistance for victims of the earthquake that occurred in Haiti on January 12. The chaos and confusion has left many people injured and homeless and has separated families when they need each other most.

Crossroads Credit Union assisted in the effort by collecting donations for the victims. The federal government will match, dollar-for dollar any donations made to the Red Cross until February 12th. Donations collected by Crossroads Credit Union that qualify for government-matched funding totaled over $4,000! Thank you to all who have given generously to this cause.
