Transferring money can be done quickly and securely with INTERAC e-Transfer®! All you need is your recipient's email address or mobile phone number to send money in just a few quick and easy steps.

How to send and receive an INTERAC e-Transfer®

  1. Log in to Crossroads Credit Union Internet Banking and navigate to the "Transfers" screen.
  2. Set up your sender profile and add your recipient - make sure to create a Security Question that only your recipient knows the answer to.
  3. Choose how to notify your recipient, the amount you wish to send and which account the funds will be transferred from. You can also choose to send a special message or memo to your recipient.
  4. Send! The funds are debited from your account immediately.
  5. Your recipient will receive notification that you have sent them an INTERAC e-Transfer®, and will follow the links provided in the email or text message to deposit their funds.
  6. Once they have answered the security question correctly, they can deposit the funds immediately - no holds, no hassle!
  7. If your recipient's Financial Institution does not subscribe to the INTERAC e-Transfer® service, it's no problem! They can still receive their funds by following the link to Interac's Interac Association's site, at which time you will be asked to create or log into your existing account with Interac Association.
  8. Once logged in, Interac Association will proceed to deposit the transfer into your chequing or savings account (which usually takes 3-5 business days). For non-participating financial institution deposits, a $4.00 service fee will be deducted from the transfer amount.

Autodeposit: (Available March 4th, 2019).  The Autodeposit feature allows you to have money sent via Interac e-Transfer automatically deposited directly into your bank account, without having to answer a security question. The Autodeposit feature continues to provide the value of Interac e-Transfer, without the need to share financial information.
For senders, there is added convenience of not needing to convey security answers while continuing to have the security of knowing who is receiving the funds, prior to sending.
Set-up is simple:

  1. Log in to your online or mobile banking and navigate to Autodeposit, found in the Interac e-Transfer settings.
  2. Register your e-mail address and link your account. Any transfers to the registered email address will be automatically deposited into the account.
  3. You will receive an email to confirm your registration. Check your inbox and click "Complete Registration".

 

Request Money:  (Available March 4th, 2019).  Easily request money you are owed with the Interac e-Transfer Request Money feature. When you send a request for money, the recipient is notified instantly and can accept the request. If accepted, the requested amount will be automatically deposited into your account and you will be notified when funds are available.

  1. Log in to your online banking or mobile banking and navigate to Interac e-Transfer Request Money.
  2. Add or select a contact and fill out the name and e-mail address or mobile phone number of the person you wish to send the request to.
  3. Type in the specified amount you are requesting and select the account you would like the funds to be deposited into. You can also include a personalized message with the request.
  4. Once the recipient has fulfilled your request, funds will immediately be deposited into your bank account and you will be notified immediately.

 

Limits and Fees:

E-transfers are FREE in all unlimited packages (Ez+, Ez+60, Loyalty, Loyalty60, Starter and Transition)

All other packages, e-transfer will be included in the transaction count.
  • Ie: Essential – will be counted as one of the 8 (over the limit is $1.00 per transaction)
  • Ie: Commercial Premium – will be counted as one of the 100 (over the limit is $1.00 per transaction)
  • No-Real time fee at time of e-transfer on all chequing and maximizer account packages.
  • Savings account: a real time fee of $1 will apply
