Crossroads Credit Union has always strived to enhance the service provided to our member owners. As a financial service provider, we need to respond to the evolving nature of the financial service business and focus on the best way to continue to serve the needs of members now and into the future. 

The Sturgis Advice Centre will be a viable local business in the town of Sturgis where our team of professionals will work together to support our members with their lending, wealth, and financial planning solutions. Our staff will deliver tailored and accessible service to our members based on their schedule, not ours. The Advice Centre will have private offices and an open space to gather and meet, focusing on offering advice rather than transactions.

We are excited to have Sturgis pilot this new Advice Centre as this will be the first of its kind. These changes will drive member traffic to and from both communities, continuing to support local businesses in both Sturgis and Preeceville. 

We understand that change can be difficult and want you to know that we are here to help find a solution that works best for you. To make this transition easier for our Sturgis members and businesses that utilize our over-the-counter transactions, we offer solutions such as utilizing the Night Depository at our Preeceville branch, Digital Banking, e-Transfers, Mobile Cheque Deposit, POS terminals, Pre-authorized Bill Payments, Direct Deposit and our 24-hour ATM located at our Preeceville branch.

Our Virtual Branch is also available Monday through Friday 8am to 7pm and Saturdays, Sundays and STAT Holidays from 9:30am to 2:30pm to assist in all other transactions such as Digital Banking and card troubleshooting, bill payments, foreign cash orders, wire transfers and account balances and transfers. In our Strategic Plan, one of our key initiatives is our branches will create an environment that supports advice-based service and member experiences.  To do this, we must look at our physical space and change our work environment.  The creation of an Advice Centre in the Sturgis location will provide Crossroads Credit Union and our members the opportunity to elevate our service, advice and relationship building. 

Over the past several years, through our annual survey, our members have been telling us they would like more advice on their financial needs.  Our Advice Centre will be a place where our Advisors can deliver tailored and accessible service, they can meet with our members based on their schedule not ours. It will have private offices as well as an open space to gather and meet. Focusing on offering advice rather than transactions. 

Our team of professionals working together to support our members with their lending, wealth, and financial planning solutions in one convenient location. Our team is our heart and soul. They are all highly qualified and have the relevant industry specialization and expertise required to help our members get results. 

All our members and business members will have the opportunity to meet with our team of professionals at our Advice Centre. 

The Sturgis Advice Centre will also be available as a community hub for members and business owners to utilize as a meeting space with community partners or suppliers. This will be option available in the community of Sturgis for those who could benefit from utilizing a meeting space with Free Wi-Fi and equipment such as a smart board.

Renovations to transform the Sturgis building into the New Advice Centre are anticipated to begin early 2024.
Our loans and deposits in the northern district are growing. In our annual surveys our members tell us they want more advice. Sturgis branch member traffic and transactions have been declining at our Sturgis branch for several years so to ensure long term viability of the space in both Sturgis and Preeceville and to support our grassroots in both locations, we are enhancing the service delivery by transferring over-the-counter transactions to our Preeceville branch, and our Sturgis branch will be transformed into a New Advice Centre where our members will meet with our advisors and specialists in a casual yet professional setting.  

Over the counter transactions include:

  • Withdrawals 
  • Cheque cashing 
  • Bill payments 
  • Foreign cash 
  • Wire transfers
  • Debit card issuance 

Sturgis members needing cash services will need to conduct their over-the-counter transactions at our Preeceville branch. To make this transition easier for our Sturgis members and businesses that utilize our over-the-counter transactions, we offer solutions such as utilizing the Night Depository at our Preeceville branch, Digital Banking, e-Transfers, Mobile Cheque Deposit, POS terminals, Pre-Authorized Bill Payments, Direct Deposit and our 24-hour ATM located at our Preeceville branch. 

Our Virtual Branch is also available 8am - 7pm Monday through Friday, and 9:30am-2:30pm on Saturdays, Sundays and STAT Holidays to assist in all other transactions such as:

No. Nothing changes. Route, transit and account numbers will all remain the same.

The nest of Safety Deposit Boxes has been relocated to our Preeceville branch.

Many advances have been made in terms of technology and processes in recent years. Government cheques can now be set up for direct deposit or by visiting the Preeceville branch, Monday through Thursday 9am to 4pm or Fridays 9am to 5pm or by using our 24-hour ATM located in Preeceville.  

All other transactions can be made by contacting our Virtual Branch by dialing 1.877.535.1299 Monday through Friday 8am to 7pm or Saturday, Sunday or STAT Holidays 9:30am to 2:30pm.

No, there will be no job loss, in fact, this change enables us to expand our front line and over-the-counter services in Preeceville and have more advisors and specialists available to meet with our members at our Advice Centre in Sturgis at a time that is convenient for them, allowing us to serve you better.  

We are still here as a viable local business and as a community partner. Moving our over-the-counter services to Preeceville will enable more of our staff the freedom and flexibility to participate and volunteer in Sturgis during working branch hours for initiatives important to the community and our members.  

We are excited to have Sturgis pilot this new Advice Centre as this will be the first of its kind and will drive member traffic to and from both communities, supporting the local businesses in both Sturgis and Preeceville. 

The Sturgis Advice Centre will also be available as a community hub for members and business owners to utilize as a meeting space with community partners or suppliers. The intention is not to take profits away from community groups who currently rent out space for revenue, but another option available in the community of Sturgis for those who could benefit from utilizing a meeting space with Free Wi-Fi and equipment such as a smart board.
